This website was created to share some of the renovation aspects of the historic home on Lake Avenue by the Parkview Hospital.
My name is Andrew Sporner. I grew up and spent most of my life in the Plymouth area (more can be found about me by clicking HERE -- its really nice hearing things from the source anyways). My first recollections of the place was when I was five years old coming back from visits to my grandfather's farm, which is now Carriage Hills Estates.
I had always thought it would be cool to own the place and I had asked from time to time up until the time I left in 1990 for "bigger and better things". It was on a visit in 2007 that I was asked by my cousin, "What would it take to get you to move back here." Well considering I had just opened a consulting business that was doing very well in Germany, I wasn't yet ready. I searched quickly for a diplomatic way to just say, "not yet" (other words were in my mind at the moment). It just fell on me say, "When I could buy that old Mansion by the Hospital". She smiled and said "It *IS* for sale. It was a moment where I realized I was, shall we say, "BUSTED". It did make for a compelling argument, and after some negotiations did in fact purchase the place.
The renovations will be ongoing until early 2014 when I will be giving up my business here in Germany to return home. Despite that I am here and the house is there, be assured it is NOT empty and trespassing laws will be taken very seriously. As a reward for respecting this, there will be an open house just before I move in.Thanks for your interest and attention.
